I was struck by how often people told me that they were particularly gratified to see the friends that went back to grade school. There seems to be something special about the people we knew at that earlier age. I have seen this in my own daughter and her friends. She is 17 now and a junior. Even though she may make new friends, it seems that the ones from grade school and adolescence have taken hold.

May we continue to nourish and tend to all of these precious connections. (9/11/00)

Many thanks from those of us who were unable to be present at the 35th DHS reunion for giving us the opportunity to catch a glimpse of those who were there. Many of you are immediately recognizable! It is good to see your faces again. I promise to be at the 50th, but this time I had an important commitment out of state. I'd love to hear from old friends...I've been in Saco for several years, where I am a therapist in private practice and also run a non-profit educational organization called Rogers McKay. My two children are grown. Sarah is 27, has her master's degree from UMich in social work and is at Harvard now for a master's degree in early childhood education. Josh is 24 and living in Washington, DC, where he's pursuing a master's degree in teaching. I can be found in many ways: at www.rogersmckay.org, by e-mail at meredith@gwi.net, by mail mail at 15 Glaude Avenue, Biddeford, Me, 04005. Please be in touch.

Sorry I missed the Reunion. It looks like you all had a great time. Since I haven't seen most of you in 35 years, I really enjoyed seeing the pictures. I don't have any of my yearbooks but I do have the Lyman Moore 9th grade picture and I enjoyed showing my husband the "before and after" of those of you who were in it. You all look like a very prosperous crowd so I guess the fundamentals that we got at Deering stood you in good stead. Hope you all had such a good time that you will want to get together for another. Maybe I'll make it home for the next one. Best to all of you.

I just wanted to say thank you to Phil Levine and whoever else put this web site together. I just spent over an hour going through all the pictures. I was amazed to see all the people that were there that I never got a chance to talk to!!! Great job!!!!

Do you have any idea how I can obtain a copy of the '65 yearbook? Mine was stolen years ago. Perhaps someone in the class has a sibling one or two years younger who kept the yearbook for each year he or she was at Deering and would be willing to part with the 1965 one. I actually don't remember if we bought a yearbook each year. My kids all ended up with one for each year of high school. Do you remember if we did that?

I have just viewed all of the pictures which you have placed on the web site. I wasn't able to make the reunion. Nor have I been able to make any of the others. So, it comes as quite a shock to me to see how old all of you have gotten! Just kidding! FYI - I am now a Tax Attorney with my own practice in Palm Beach and Hollywood, Florida. I want to thank you, and the others responsible, for putting together the web site. I had a great time looking at all of the pictures and remembering some of my old friends.

Hi everyone I felt badly that I could not be at the reunion. I have lived in Detroit, Chicago and am now in Phoenix. I call it moving west-the slow way! I have 2 sons, Dan is 30 and is a lawyer and James is an electrical engineer working for DoubleClick. Where did the years go??? I remember all the good times in Maine and return each summer as my sister, Roni, lives in Maine during the summer. Boy, those Italians and lobstaaaasss sure taste wonderful. I own my own company doing physician recruiting. I certainly will not miss the next reunion. Thanks Phil for being so organized. The web page is wonderful to visit.
