Go in right now

Welcome classmates and visitors. It was a great pleasure to help realize the 35th reunion of our class. To materialize a happy gathering where there might have been none was very satisfying. My only wish would be that I had had more time to actually connect with more of you.

Because that urge remains, I hope that this website (go right now) will provide a continuation of our reunion, as well as offering the opportunity for many of you who were unable to attend to join in now.

Here you will find pictures of many of us who were there (I wish there were pictures of everyone who was there), as well as a space where we can post messages to our friends. In addition, I hope that we can quickly gather a collection of e-mail addresses to facilitate person-to-person communication (send yours in now).

Here is how I envision this site working: there are 4 pictures per page. We still need to identify many of the people, and so if you can help, all you need to do is to click on the picture and type in the name of the person(s) you can identify to e-mail to me. Guests names are accompanied by a *.

Also, if you apple-click (Mac) or command-click(?) (Windows) on any of the underlined names under the pictures, you will bring up a new window with the person's address if you'd like that. If their e-mail address is available, then clicking on it will immediately provide you with the e-mail form to send to them. If you forget or if your browser does not support this shortcut then just click the name; you can always get back to the picture by clicking the "back" button on your browser. [If you do not wish your address to appear, please let me know.]

We also have a message page for posting messages to visitors. Please feel free to send your own words to share with us all. A separate page will collect e-mail addresses for all who wish to provide them (not to be given out anywhere else). Even if I have your address already, please send it to me again, because I want to be sure you're giving permission to post it.

I hope that in the difficult trade-off of creating such a site I have found a workable middle ground between the size of the pictures, the size of the pages, and the time it takes for your page to appear on your screen. Increasing any one of these affects the others. And everyone has different size screens and browser windows. I have provided a few suggestions below for anyone to enhance your viewing.

I would appreciate feedback, suggestions for improvement or questions.

Our pictures were provided by the generosity of Andy Kirk whose pictures are on pages 1-13 and the top two on page 14, and Sylvia Aron (my sweetie) who shot the rest.

May this site provide continued pleasure to all of you. (ENTER)

Browser tips:
  • Increase the size of your browser window till if fills your screen.
  • Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll up and down, right and left.
  • Use the "View" menu in your browser (or whatever is similar) to eliminate unnecessary button bars that you never use, to give you more viewing space. Many people have a "favorites bar" above their browsing window which they never use, for example.
  • One of my jobs is as a computer consultant, so if you have questions, don't be afraid to ask me. A lot of time we can make using our computers a lot easier and more enjoyable if we just ask for suggestions. (write me)
